Moving Mountains
A set of films shot across Cumbria for the launch of the Moving Mountains mission, plus the staging, sound and screens for the launch itself at Penrith Auction Mart.
Moving Mountains was God for All's mission across Cumbria, launched with a commissioning event at Penrith Auction Mart on 8 March 2018. The Diocese of Carlisle asked us to make the films that would be shown on the day, and to run the event itself.
The films
Over a week in January 2018 we travelled the county, from Whitehaven and Kirkoswald to Ravenstonedale, Rydal Hall and Staveley, interviewing the people behind the mission's projects, and filming Messy Church sessions on Sundays. We cut the footage into a set of short films: interviews with two of the mission's champions, stories from three projects, and five prayer films covering agriculture, young people, education, industry and tourism. We also shot a drone sequence to open the event.
The launch
The auction ring became the stage, with a projection screen over the auctioneer's stand. We provided the staging, sound and screens, played in the films, fed the sound to BBC Radio Cumbria, and recorded the whole event.
A brilliant launch event… Thank you for all the filmed inserts and for the tremendous drone aerials.
